Half a loaf: The Tipline for 30 June 2017
Today is the last day of the first half of 2017, and we have a full briefing to wrap it up. The House held a hearing about trends on international antitrust and got to Qualcomm, but not Google; BlueCross BlueShield’s motion to dismiss an antitrust lawsuit brought by healthcare providers has been denied; and a Federal Trade Commission lawyer said policy remains the same in the face of drug price hikes. Finally, Walgreens has decided to take a little less than half of Rite-Aid’s stores instead of pushing through a deal that it already had expected to require divesting 1200 shops.
