The House of Representatives antitrust subcommittee is looking for suggestions on how Congress can better improve the institutional structure of US antitrust enforcement. Unsurprisingly, several competition experts proposed appropriating more funding to the Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice. Alison Jones and William Kovacic may now be the two most popular antitrust professors among FTC staff, after proposing that Congress triple the agency’s budget and allocate most of the additional funding to increasing staff salaries.
