FTC loses petition abuse suit against ViroPharma

A federal judge has thrown out the Federal Trade Commission’s allegations that Shire ViroPharma abused a citizen petitioning process, ruling that before seeking a permanent injunction, the agency must first show the drugmaker was engaged or about to engage in illegal acts.
