FTC commissioners diverge on algorithms

Acting Federal Trade Commission chairman Maureen Ohlhausen said yesterday that the American antitrust agencies are well-equipped to deal with potentially anticompetitive algorithms and said some concerns about their use are “alarmist” – a more relaxed perspective than that offered by Democratic commissioner Terrell McSweeny the day before.
