The Robinson-Patman Act never died. A generation of antitrust enforcers have been ageing the law passed three years after the end of Prohibition in barrels deep beneath the Federal Trade Commission. Agency chair Lina Khan et al are now ready to uncork it. Politico reports the FTC is probing whether Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits has been unfairly favouring larger retailers. Also in Tipline, Senator Mike Lee brings back legislation that could break up Google’s advertising business and the US agencies are sending a pair of attorneys to Brussels.
