Whatever the outcome of the Department of Justice’s ad tech case against Google, Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrison’s alumni network is coming out a winner. The US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia has rejected Yelp’s request to have Google’s lead counsel disqualified over work Antitrust Division chief Jonathan Kanter did for Yelp while at the firm. Meanwhile, the Antitrust Division’s lead attorney on the case, Julia Tarver Wood, spent a quarter-century at the firm before moving to the DOJ in January.
