Microsoft may have become the second-ever company to surpass $3 trillion in market cap this week, but that does not mean its employees are immune from “sustainable cost” restructuring. On Thursday, the world’s most valuable company fired 1,900 employees or roughly 9% of its gaming division to eliminate “areas of overlap” after closing its purchase of Activision Blizzard. Also in Tipline, the Federal Trade Commission will stop processing merger filings if the government shuts down in March.
