Don't Mess with Texas: The Tipline for 17 December 2020
The slogan “Don't Mess with Texas” was created in 1985 for the Texas Department of Transportation’s anti-littering campaign. The state’s attorney general, Ken Paxton, is now borrowing the catchphrase for his campaign against Big Tech. Announcing a multi-state antitrust lawsuit against Google yesterday, Paxton said he is “here to fight for each and every citizen of Texas” and that he will continue to do his job, whether big technology companies like it or not. “It’s time for them to learn the hard way that you do not mess with Texas,” he said.
