Dollar Express sale conjures concerns about failed divestiture

Sycamore Partners announced on Monday that it would sell 323 of its Dollar Express stores on Monday to rival Dollar General – less than two years after the private equity group bought the stores as the divestiture from the Dollar Tree/Family Dollar deal in which Dollar General was a failed bidder.
