DOJ wants speedy AT&T appeal: The Tipline for 19 July 2018

The Department of Justice’s antitrust division has filed an unopposed request with the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit to expedite its appeal of a lower court’s decision to allow AT&T’s acquisition of Time Warner. The government wants to submit its opening brief on 6 August. For now, we have a full briefing that includes a lot of material from Federal Trade Commission chair Joseph Simons and the other commissioners, all of whom testified on Capitol Hill yesterday.
