DOJ “more dangerous” for turning deal reviews into conduct probes, former official says

The Department of Justice rarely unearths evidence of illegal conduct during merger reviews, a senior official at the agency has said – but a former Federal Trade Commission official argued that when the DOJ does, it poses a bigger threat than the FTC.
