It comes as no surprise to readers of GCR that the Democratic majority at the Federal Trade Commission takes a much more sceptical view of merger remedies than past administrations. For those looking to get in the loop, the agency's chair has now put it in writing, telling one senator that divestitures may be inadequate with unlawful deals. “In light of this, I believe the antitrust agencies should more frequently consider opposing problematic deals outright,” Lina Khan wrote.
