COPA antitrust: The Tipline for 19 June 2019

While GCR will not provide any coverage on South America’s ongoing football championships, the Copa America, we do have coverage of the antitrust version of COPA – the certificate of public advantage laws that immunise hospital transactions from federal antitrust oversight in certain states. Federal Trade Commission chair Joseph Simons weighed in on the latter, but unfortunately, did not give his predictions for the tournament. Speaking of competition in football, it seems that the only way to stop the US women in the World Cup in France this summer will be for Margrethe Vestager to open an abuse of dominance investigation.
