Consultants go free: The Tipline for 4 August 2022
The Federal Trade Commission has been increasingly turning to unpaid outsiders for expert and consulting work but the agency’s inspector general has voiced his unease with the practice. An audit published on Wednesday suggested that the FTC’s lack of documentation or guardrails for external work carried conflict of interest and legal risks. Also in Tipline, Meta wants to dig deep into former acquisition target Snap and Axon gets a date with the Supreme Court.
