Clean up in Mergers III: The Tipline for 13 February 2024
The Federal Trade Commission’s division tasked with overseeing fossil fuel mergers already has its plate full with three in-depth probes of oil deals worth more than $125 billion. That was before Diamondback Energy and Endeavor Energy revealed plans for a $26 billion tie-up on Monday. Perhaps the Bureau of Competition needs a Permian Basin office. Also in Tipline, the Department of Justice’s defense industrial and aerospace section promotes from within and a litigation financier loses a bid to scuttle settlement talks.
