Busy bees: The Tipline for 4 April 2022
The first full week of April is jammed-packed with as much antitrust as it is pollen. Today, the Department of Justice kicks off its first two criminal antitrust cases related to labour markets in Texas and Colorado. Tomorrow, the busy bees of the antitrust bar swarm to Washington, DC, for GCR Live: Cartels and GCR’s annual awards ceremony before the whole colony touches down for the American Bar Association's antitrust law spring meeting. Those excited to see the head of the Antitrust Division participating in Friday’s roundtable may be disappointed to hear the judge presiding over the broiler chicken case has ordered assistant attorney general Jonathan Kanter to appear before him in Denver on the same day to explain why his agency wants a third trial.
