Broiler blunders: The Tipline for 6 May 2022
Defendants in the Department of Justice’s broiler chicken case have pushed back against the agency’s request to delay the start of the third trial. The federal Colorado court trying the case also appears to have taken issue with the Antitrust Division's method of asking for a pause. “The government is further advised that, when it seeks relief from the Court, as it does here by requesting a new trial date, it shall do so by motion and not by ‘notice,’” wrote Chief Judge Philip Brimmer earlier this week.
