“Blue wave” reaches the Potomac: The Tipline for 4 January 2018

For the first time in nearly a decade, the Democrats control the House of Representatives after US voters flipped 40 seats blue in November. Last year, Rhode Island congressman David Cicilline introduced legislation aimed at giving news publishers the ability to collectively negotiate with large digital advertisers such as Facebook and Google. Yesterday, he became the new chairman of the House antitrust subcommittee.
