Those interested in how the divestiture process is playing out after a rare private merger challenge will have to wait a bit longer to learn the contents of the most recent hearing in Steves and Sons’ dispute with Jeld-Wen. A federal Virginia judge sealed the courtroom yesterday for the proceeding in Richmond “in order to protect the integrity of the divestiture process” and ordered the parties to submit to him any redactions they deem necessary before the transcript is made publicly available. The Department of Justice’s statement of interest in the case, however, is now open for discussion.
