It seems that dreams do (sometimes) come true, now that Broadcom’s ongoing pursuit of Qualcomm appears to have a fighting chance of success. Though Qualcomm’s board unanimously rejected Broadcom’s offer yesterday, they said they would reach out to discuss the proposal further. In other news, House Democrats are still suspicious of any presidential influence on the DOJ’s attempt to block the AT&T/Time Warner merger, while an FCC commissioner has criticised the agency’s approach to competition policy. We are also circling back to GCR’s 7th Annual Antitrust Law Leaders Forum last week, where former enforcers called for more certainty regarding behavioural remedies.
