Antitrust Destiny: The Tipline for 5 May 2023

The Federal Trade Commission has risen from the ashes. Speaking at the first-ever Anti-Monopoly Summit on Thursday, former FTC commissioner Rohit Chopra described how the agency had fallen into “deep decay and disarray” as decades of leadership refused to enforce the laws because of their “personal pro-monopoly predilections”. All was not lost, though. Chopra said he and a young legal scholar helped breathe new life into the agency. “We needed this agency to be alive again,” Chopra said. “Thanks to the analysis and advocacy of people in this room, it's starting to work.” GCR USA will be back in your inboxes on Tuesday.
