Yesterday we attended the first day of the Department of Justice’s two-day TV and digital advertising workshop, which explored the role of online and mobile advertising networks and their implications on competition enforcement. We’re back there today, but if you’re at the Federal Trade Commission, wish Chairman Joseph Simons an early happy birthday. Sunday marks the 147th birthday of former attorney general A Mitchell Palmer, who DOJ economist Gregory Werden says reorganised the agency into separate divisions in 1919, including one focused on antitrust.
