Amazon cleaning up: The Tipline for 8 August 2022
Amazon is planning to hoover up another company. The online retailer revealed plans on Friday to acquire the manufacturer of Roomba, a robot vacuum, for $1.7 billion. It is unclear if the deal presents any competition concerns, but the Federal Trade Commission has shown it is willing to push the envelope and may give Amazon’s antitrust counsel a mess to clean up.
