An attorney representing an Avianca customer in Manhattan relied on ChatGPT to prepare a filing opposing the carrier’s recent motion to dismiss his client’s personal injury claims. It did not go well: the AI tool made up unrelated citations and produced false judicial opinions, and Judge Kevin Castel was not pleased.
