Aetna/Humana dead: The Tipline for 14 February 2017
LATE BREAKING: Health insurers Aetna and Humana have officially ended their proposed $37 billion tie-up, after Washington, DC federal judge John Bates enjoined it on 23 January. Aetna chair and chief executive Mark Bertolini said “the current environment makes it too challenging to continue pursuing the transaction”. Aetna will pay Humana a $1 billion breakup fee.
