It is no secret that US government employees often rotate between positions in the private and public sectors, but a report published by a DC consumer rights group is spotlighting the trend and its potential impact at the Federal Trade Commission. The agency does have ethical guidelines that its current and former employees must follow relating to clients, but the report suggests that the actions of some FTC officials may not always be in the public’s best interest. Former officials responded that the report “misses the mark” and is “drawing a cause and effect where none seems to exist”.
