DOJ gets out of the ad business: The Tipline for 14 November 2018

The Department of Justice yesterday very publicly sued, and then promptly settled with Sinclair Broadcast Group, Raycom Media, Tribune Media, Meredith, Griffin Communications, and Dreamcatcher Broadcasting for allegedly swapping sensitive information about their advertising revenues. More quietly, the advertising agencies whose production bidding practices the DOJ began investigating in 2016 noted in regulatory filings yesterday that they had received letters from the Antitrust Division saying it had closed the investigation without charges.
