Close eye on common ownership: The Tipline for 2 May 2019

After running up to New York yesterday to hear Makan Delrahim speak, we will be spending the rest of the week with the Department of Justice’s antitrust division as well: today begins a two-day workshop at the agency on competition in television and digital advertising. Next week, the Antitrust Division should expect to hear from lawyers for two textbook publishers that say the availability of digital educational resources – including illegal downloads – has shaped their industry and compelled “the urgency” of joining forces.
