A federal court judge has made a landmark judgment that an almost forgotten antitrust law is in fact an anti-dumping law, carrying a far lower burden of proof. The Utah judge gave his controversial interpretation when US company Geneva Steel brought an action under the Act, known paradoxically as the 1916 Antidumping Act, against Ranger, a Texan company, and Thyssen, the largest German steel-maker, alleging they were dumping products on the US market.
