AnJie Law Firm

10 March 2015

China

After opening its doors just two years ago, competition boutique AnJie Law Firm has risen quickly through the ranks of Chinese antitrust practices. A dozen partners from many of the country’s leading competition law firms created the firm together, including Zhan Hao, managing partner and head of the firm’s antitrust group. The firm’s growth is illustrated by the recent opening of a second office in Shanghai, which has a fourth antitrust partner.

The team covers the entire antitrust spectrum, but it is more focused on the behavioural side. AnJie is involved in some capacity in almost all the major NDRC probes, he says, such as infant milk, automobiles, LCDs, telecoms and insurance. In the auto parts case, the firm won a reduction in fines for its client. AnJie’s antitrust group has pushed to expand its private litigation portfolio. Zhan says the firm is representing one foreign firm in a private damages action, and also recently successfully defended a telecoms company in civil antitrust proceedings.
