05 December 2013

Brazil

In 2012, Araújo e Policastro merged with antitrust and litigation boutique Lanna Peixoto Advogados, home of former SDE official and firm co-founder Bruno Peixoto. The team comprises two partners and three associates handling antitrust work full-time. As well as advising clients on merger control and CADE investigtions, the firm has a strong competition litigation practice representing several corporate clients in follow-on recovery actions, including steel producer Usiminas and the Association of Hospitals of São Paulo against Praxair following CADE’s ruling in the gases cartel case. On the deal side, the team advised Lactalis, the world’s largest dairy group, on competition issues surrounding its expansion into Brazil.
