The team secured competition clearance for the tie-up of two of the three largest oat millers in North America without the need for a second request from the DoJ. It also guided medical device manufacturer Datascope through the FTC's investigation of its US$865 million sale to Swedish device maker Getinge.
Dechert is defending Dean Foods in the first litigated challenge to a merger to be brought by the DoJ. The antitrust division, together with the States of Wisconsin, Michigan and Illinois, decided to challenge Dean Foods' acquisition of Foremast Farm's consumer products division. The DoJ claims the deal would reduce competition in various school and fluid milk markets.
Dechert secured FTC clearance for Monster's acquisition of HotJobs from Yahoo.
