Advocacia José Del Chiaro is the home of one of the country’s best-known antitrust specialists. José Del Chiaro Ferreira da Rosa is a former head of the SDE, and a founder member of Ibrac, Brazil’s largest competition-focused group to which most of Brazil’s competition lawyers belong. Del Chiaro is also a nominee in The International Who’s Who of Competition Lawyers and Economists.

The competition team has six partners and three associates. The team is representing mobile phone company TIM in an investigation of a price-squeeze complaint from rival Global Village Telecom; Kaiser in an abuse of dominance case against Ambev; and Alcoa in an investigation of an alleged cartel in the flexible packaging sector.

On the mergers side the firm is advising Volkswagen and Hypermarcas on the notifications of several transactions in Brazil.

Other clients include ArcelorMittal Brasil, Bayer, Femsa, CNH Latin America, Embratel, Ericsson, Itaú, Holcim Brasil, Kraft Foods, Metalnave, Merck, Medial Saúde, Phillip Morris, Renault, Santos Brasil and Volkswagen.
