Emerging Enforcers 2018

Hong Kong’s Competition Commission

21 February 2018

The ease with which one forgets that Hong Kong’s Competition Commission is only five years old is a testament to the progress the enforcer has made. The Hong Kong government first passed the Competition Ordinance in 2012, with legislation coming into force in stages since then, and finally being fully implemented in December 2015. Though the implementation process was drawn out, the commission, established in 2013, wasted no time making its mark.
