Recipes for success

As newer competition agencies look to their older siblings and the international community at large for guidance, Sonya Lalli considers whether there is a tried and tested recipe for success – or one that experts in the field can devise with the benefit of hindsight. Competition law as we understand it now only came into existence in the late 1800s in the US and Canada, and eventually came to the fore in Europe following the Second World War. It has spread from there; presently more than 130 countries have competition laws and agencies.
