EU conditionally clears Google/Fitbit deal
Critics have accused the European Commission of hiding behind privacy rules to avoid tackling some of the competition issues posed by Google’s acquisition of Fitbit, although others believe it was right for the enforcer to approve the deal subject to decade-long data remedies.
