Yana Yaneva
Yana Yaneva is a senior legal expert in the Bulgarian Commission on Protection of Competition (CPC). She graduated from the University of Plovdiv, Bulgaria, in 2004 with a major in Law and completed a Master’s Degree in International Commercial Law at the London Metropolitan University. She joined the CPC in May 2012 and is currently working in the Legal Analyses and Competition Policy Directorate. Her practice includes assessment of the compatibility with the provisions of national and European competition law, of draft and effective legislative or regulatory administrative or general administrative acts, as well as acts of associations of undertakings, which regulate the activities of their members. She was involved in the drafting of the Guidelines on Corporate Programs for Compliance with Competition Rules and Guidelines for Implementing Competition Advocacy. She also provides legal opinions on procedural and substantive issues regarding the application of the provisions of the national competition law taking into consideration the judicial practice of the Bulgarian Administrative Court, the European Court of Justice and the European Commission. She is an active member in working groups within the European Competition Network (ECN) and the International Competition Network (ICN) and is also taking part in initiatives related to the advocacy of competition rules among business and other administrative bodies.
