Vinicius Marques de Carvalho is the first and current president of CADE under the new competition law (Law 12.529/11); former secretary of Economic Law of the Ministry of Justice (2011–2012); former commissioner of CADE (2008-2011); chief of staff of the Special Secretariat for Human Rights of the Presidency of the Republic (2007–2008); and public policies and government management specialist (EPPGG) since 2006. He has a PhD in commercial law from the University of São Paulo Law School and a PhD in economic compared law from Paris I University (Panthéon-Sorbonne).
