Valérie Meunier is a Senior Vice President at Compass Lexecon, based in Paris and Brussels. She is also Deputy Head of Compass Lexecon’s Research Team.
Since joining Compass Lexecon in 2012, she has been involved in antitrust cases in a variety of jurisdictions including the European Union, the UK, France and Scandinavia, providing economic expertise in several competition enforcement cases investigating, inter alia, rebates, patent settlements, predation, excessive pricing, margin squeeze, vertical restraints, information exchange and cartels in a wide range of industries including automotive, media and telecommunications, advertising, pharmaceutical, agri-food, building materials, consumer goods. Recent cases include Cargotec/Konecranes, HHI/DSME, E.On/Innogy, Thales/Gemalto, Discovery/Scripps, Safran/Zodiac Aerospace, H3G Italy/Wind, SFR/Numericable and Omnicom/Publicis (for the main parties), and Siemens/Alstom, TeliaSonera/Telenor, JCDecaux/Metrobus (for third parties).
Prior to joining Compass Lexecon, Valérie worked at the Autorité de la concurrence, first as an Economist, then as Deputy Chief Economist. Valérie received a Ph.D. in Economics from the Toulouse School of Economics (France), and after a post-doc at CIRANO, she joined Aarhus University (Denmark) where she was an Assistant Professor at the School of Economics and Management. She has co-authored several articles published in academic journals including The RAND Journal of Economics.
