Ubiratan Mattos

Ubiratan Mattos is a senior partner in Mattos Muriel Kestener Advogados. He holds a JD degree from the University of São Paulo Law School (1977) and a Masters degree in Comparative Law from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (1981). He is admitted to the Brazilian Bar Association (São Paulo, Brasília, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul and Rio Grande do Norte chapters). He is a member of São Paulo Lawyer's Association (AASP), the São Paulo Lawyer's Institute (IASP), the Brazilian Consumer Rights and Policies Institute, and is former president of the Brazilian Institute for Competition, Consumer and International Trade Studies (IBRAC) (1999 tp 2005).In his 30-year professional career, Mr Mattos has been involved in a variety of legal matters with an emphasis on complex litigation, civil liability, competition law and international trade. He is an active speaker in domestic and international seminars on these matters. Mr Mattos speaks Portuguese, English and Spanish. He has been repeatedly ranked as a leading lawyer in competition and antitrust by Chambers Global - The World Leading Lawyers, and by The International Who's Who of Competition Lawyers. He is also featured in Latin Lawyer - Latin America's Leading Business Law Firms, among others.
