Susan M Hutton

Susan Hutton is a partner in the competition and international trade law groups in Stikeman Elliott LLP's Ottawa office. She practises principally in the areas of competition law, foreign investment review and international trade (dumping, subsidies and other trade remedies). She appears as a 'leading individual' in the competition/antitrust practice area in Chambers & Partners' The World's Leading Lawyers for Business 2009, and is said to be 'renowned for her expertise in merger-related issues, international trade and competition policy matters'. Global Competition Review lists her in The International Who's Who of Competition Lawyers. Ms Hutton was acknowledged by LEXPERT magazine in September 2003 as one of the 15 top 'Women to Watch' among lawyers in Canada. She is also recognised by LEXPERT, the Canadian legal directory, as a 'repeatedly recommended' practitioner in the area of competition law. Ms Hutton edits the firm newsletter, The Competitor, and was chair of the 2006 annual conference of the Competition Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association. She speaks and writes frequently in the field. She has lived and worked in Bangkok, Saigon and Singapore and advised the Vietnamese government on the drafting of its competition law.
