Stephen Smith

Stephen leads RPC’s award-winning competition and antitrust practice. He has extensive experience advising across a broad range of EU and UK competition law matters, including representing clients on complex merger investigations and in relation to cartel and other antitrust investigations before regulators in the UK and the European Commission.Stephen’s practice spans contentious and transactional competition actions. Recent contentious cases include advising defendants to claims arising out of a pan-European cartel investigation, advising a claimant on numerous commercial and competition disputes and advising the MyFerryLink business on its successful challenge to the jurisdiction of the Competition Commission to review Eurotunnel’s acquisition of certain former SeaFrance assets in the Competition Appeal Tribunal.Stephen advises clients across a broad range of sectors, including retail, food, telecoms, media and insurance.
