Stellah Onyancha

Manager, Mergers and Acquisitions DepartmentMs Stellah N Onyancha is a holder of a master of arts in economic policy management (University of Ghana, Legon); a bachelor of arts (BA Hons) in economics and business studies (Kenyatta University); certificates in competition policy and law; quantitative trade policy analysis, trade in services; corporate governance and senior management courses. Stellah is the manager of the Mergers and Acquisitions Department at the Competition Authority of Kenya. Her department has successfully handled 200 merger notifications in various sectors of the economy, out of which over 60 per cent had an international dimension. She has steered her department in developing merger guidelines and also contributed to the advocacy initiatives.  Her main interests are in competition regulation, research and trade-related issues. To that end she has developed a keen interest in merger assessments and sectoral studies and has been involved in these from time to time. She participated in the Getting the Deal Through – Merger Control 2012 and 2013 editions by reviewing answers, under the guidance of the director general. She has participated in workshops and joint research.
