Robert Schlossberg

Bob is a partner in the antitrust group in the Freshfields Washington, DC office. For more than 30 years, clients have turned to Bob to represent them on the full range of antitrust matters. He is well known for practising before the FTC and the DoJ’s Antitrust Division, successfully guiding national and global transactions through antitrust review. As part of his merger practice, Bob counsels on the national security issues that arise under Exon–Florio. He has developed and coordinated successful filing and clearance strategies under Exon–Florio.His recent matters include advising a German multinational on its acquisition of an US defence contractor; a Swiss engineering company on its sale to a UK-based multi-national; and a Dutch aerospace financing company on its acquisition of a US-based company.Bob is editor of the American Bar Association treatise on M&A and past chair of the Section’s M&A Committee. He is a non-governmental adviser to the US agencies in connection with the International Competition Network. Bob graduated from the George Washington University National Law Center where he served as articles editor of the Law Review; he then clerked for the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
