Rita Motta is an associate in the Brussels office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm's global antitrust and competition practice. Her practice focuses on a wide range of issues under European competition law and includes cartel investigations, state aid and merger control. Ms Motta has significant experience in antitrust and state aid investigations in the energy sector, including abuse of dominance cases. Her practice also covers merger control in Brazil and other Latin American countries. Prior to joining Latham & Watkins, Ms Motta worked as associate in leading law firms in São Paulo. While practising law in Brazil, Ms Motta advised her clients on various aspects of Brazilian law, in particular on regulatory issues related to the energy sector and other utilities industries.
