Ricardo is a partner at Pereira Neto | Macedo Advogados. He has more than 15 years’ experience in antitrust, regulation and litigation and has received a Bachelor of Law degree from the Catholic University of São Paulo and obtained a Master of Laws (LLM) in International Economic Law Business and Policy from Stanford Law School (USA). Ricardo is also a Specialist in Economic Law from FGV-SP and serves as a Non-Governmental Advisor (NGA) to the Unilateral Conduct Working Group and the Merger Working Group of the International Competition Network (ICN). Ricardo has also served as legal counsel to the Brazilian Competition Authority (CADE), under the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), providing independent legal counselling for the drafting of the Remedies Guidelines issued by CADE in 2018. He has extensive experience on a wide range of competition law matters including cartel investigations and leniency applications, merger clearances, abuse of dominance investigations, client counselling (especially working with investment and hedge funds in regulatory and antitrust risk assessment for merger-arb), litigation and corporate compliance programmes. Ricardo also practised law with the international law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP in Brussels, counselling clients in European and Brazilian Competition law matters. Ricardo has been active in some of the most relevant antitrust cases in Brazil in recent years.
