As a lawyer in Hogan Lovells’ antitrust, competition and economic regulation practice in the Madrid office, Raquel Fernández Menéndez deals with multinational and local companies’ competition concerns from both a Spanish and European Union law perspective.

Focused on resolving problems typical of national and international legal traffic and trade, she advises clients on merger control, foreign investment regime, internal audits, state aid proceedings, cartel investigations and other administrative and judicial antitrust proceedings before the European Commission, the Spanish competition authority and national courts of justice.

Raquel graduated in law from the University of Oviedo in 2014. She gained experience in EU competition law during her double master degree programme in legal practice and EU law, jointly conducted by Carlos III University and ISDE School of Legal Practice in Madrid. Prior to joining the competition team, she became engaged in regulated sectors, focusing in particular on public procurement, consumer protection, environment, medical devices and other life sciences sector issues.
