Ram Tamara

Ram Tamara is vice president of Nathan Associates Inc and director of Nathan Economic Consulting India Pvt Ltd (Nathan India). He has an MA in accounting and a PhD in economics from Clemson University, USA. He is an associate member (ACA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. His areas of expertise include competition economics, regulatory economics, and policy and impact analysis.Ram Tamara has extensive experience working on antitrust and competition law cases in the United States, Europe and India. In the past five years he has built and managed the competition law practice of Nathan India. He has significant experience providing economic analysis in cartel and abuse of dominance cases, and merger and acquisition filings before the Competition Commission of India. His industry experience includes cement, steel and other construction materials, automobiles and automobile parts, petroleum products, pharmaceutical, aviation, entertainment, medical services and apparel.He has also directed several economic policy studies including for the Ministries of Corporate Affairs and Civil Aviation, government of India, involving analysis of regulations impeding competition in the civil aviation sector; analysis of pricing and taxation of aviation turbine fuel and its impact on the sector; and economic regulation of airline ticket pricing in
