Paul Muysert is a partner at CEG in London. He specialises in competition policy and regulation, with particular expertise in network industries, including telecommunications, transport, and financial services. Paul has extensive experience of competition law and regulation issues in a number of jurisdictions, including the UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and South Africa. He has provided expert economic evidence to the UK High Court, UK Competition Appeal Tribunal and the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission. He has also acted as a testifying expert in a number of international arbitrations at the International Arbitral Centre of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber. His experience includes cases in the aviation, banking, bus, dairy manufacturing, shipping, steel, telecommunications and rail industries. Recent engagements include providing economic support to Tele Atlas during the successful Tele Atlas/TomTom EC merger clearance and to Mittal Steel on a proposed transaction in South Africa. He has also recently provided support to a major manufacturer of bathroom fixtures and fittings during a European cartel investigation. In the area of telecoms regulation he has provided expert testimony to the UK Competition Commission, and an expert report for Sonaecom on asymmetric regulation of mobile termination rates in Portugal.Mr Muysert previously worked for another international economic consultancy based in London. He has also worked as an economist in the telecommunications industry, on extended engagements with the UK Competition Commission and the UK Office of Communications (Ofcom), and in the New Zealand Commerce Commission.
