Patricia Pérez specialises in European and Spanish competition law, and in litigation (actions for damages arising from anti-competitive practices).

She has worked at the European Commission (EC) as a case handler in the Economic Concentrations Unit of the Directorate General for Competition as well as in the competition team of the EC’s Legal Service.

Before joining Cuatrecasas, she was based in the Brussels office of a leading US law firm, where she focused her practice on EU and Competition law.

Patricia Pérez holds a PhD in Law (summa cum laude) and is currently an associate professor at the Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha (Spain) and at the IE Law School. She has been a lecturer and researcher at the Max-Planck Institute of Innovation and Competition Law (Munich), visiting professor at Sciences Po (Paris) and at the Université Catholique de Lille. She holds lectures on master programmes (e.g., Universidad Carlos III, UOC) and speaks regularly at conferences and seminars. She is the author and co-author of many articles and chapters in journals and books on competition and commercial law.

Her publications include ‘Competition Law in Spain’ (co-author), Wolters Kluwer, 2018; and Acciones de responsabilidad civil por ilícitos anticompetitivos (Civil liability actions for antitrust offences), Wolters Kluwer, 2019. Patricia Pérez speaks Spanish, German, English and French.
